About Uzma Zakir

Uzma Zakir has been a dispensary pharmacist at the Compassionate Care Center of CT, Fairfield County’s first Medical Marijuana Dispensary, since October of 2015.  She graduated with honors from St. John’s University and then worked at a retail pharmacy for many years.  Feeling frustrated for her patients during the height of the opioid crisis she now finds herself providing long-lasting true relief for patients’ using optimal therapeutic dosages, correct strains, and appropriate delivery systems.  Uzma also implements dietary counseling and nutraceuticals to achieve desired outcomes.  Uzma sits on the board of directors for Recovery Network of Programs, A non-profit organization serving the Bridgeport area dedicated to helping those who are suffering from addiction, mental illness and homelessness.  She is passionate that cannabis is medicine.
