Thursday night, December 15, come see artist Ana Marie Rollin’s Etruscan Elegance Collection at a meet-and-greet special event at Nature’s Temptations from 6 to 8 p.m.
Enjoy conversation with the artist, delight in her works, and share in the complimentary horsd’oeuvres of Nature’s Temptations created by chef Liz Gagnon.
Through many of her batiks she captures the essence of spiritual people. Her works were inspired by the ancient civilization of Etruria, as interpreted from D.H. Lawrence’s “Etruscan Places.”
Her Etruscan Elegance Collection includes “The Blue Mirror,” which depicts a blue goddess and her consort, hypnotically entranced. Another piece is called “A Sense of Touch,” which illustrates the sensual, soulful nature of the human caress. “As I paint, I awaken to the spirit of life and joy,” she said. “I am moved to follow, to dance, to participate in the events of the lives of the Etruscan people. I am changed as wax upon cloth.”
